About Chelan Pride Festival
Chelan Pride holds an annual Pride festival at Riverview Park in Chelan. The 2026 edition was the fifth annual.
Chelan Pride was founded in 2022 as a queer-led, entirely volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Its mission is to empower and connect the 2SLGBTQIA+ community of North Central Washington, with attention to how race, ethnicity, gender identity, income, ability and immigration status shape people's experiences. The group works through mutual aid, education and support as well as events.
The 2026 festival carried the theme No Permission Needed, which framed Pride as rooted in protest and honored the Black and Brown trans women who fought back against state violence, including Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera. The festival is free and family-friendly, with live music, local vendors and community resources in Riverview Park.
Sponsorships are tax-deductible and help pay for the festival, a Pride After Party, an annual drag show and the group's year-round work. Volunteers serve both on event crews and on the planning committee.
