About Snovalley Pride Picnic
Snovalley Pride holds an annual Pride picnic in the Snoqualmie Valley. The 2026 picnic was the fourth annual.
Snovalley Pride began during a painful period in the Snoqualmie Valley, after the community lost several young people to suicide, including queer youth, while anti-2SLGBTQ+ legislation and rhetoric were growing nationally. Its founders set out to challenge the idea that queer people must leave rural communities to find safety and belonging, and to make the valley a place where they can stay.
Today it is a 2SLGBTQ+ nonprofit focused on connection, visibility, healing arts and advocacy. Alongside the annual picnic, it runs community festivals, live performances, youth and family programs, films, creative workshops and educational resources. It also keeps a list of resources for allies and for people who are coming out, and it promotes other LGBTQIA+ events in the valley.
Founder and executive director Greg Jamiel wrote and designed Uni's Quest for Kindness, an illustrated children's book set in the Snoqualmie Valley that follows a unicorn on a journey about kindness and belonging. Signed copies are sold online.
