Yakima Pride Festival and Parade

Yakima Pride is a nonprofit that holds a Pride parade and festival in Yakima each June, along with a Rainbow Prom and a World AIDS Day observance. The festival was voted best festival in the Yakima Herald-Republic 2025 Readers' Choice Awards.

Yakima Pride began as a grassroots effort by a few neighbors who believed everyone in the Yakima Valley deserves a place to belong, and it has grown into a 501(c)(3) nonprofit led by an all-volunteer board. It works through education, advocacy and cultural events to support LGBTQIA+ people across the Yakima Valley and Central Washington, with particular attention to the experiences of Black, Indigenous and Latine community members.

The organization grounds its values in Gilbert Baker's original eight-color Pride flag from 1978. Its vision describes a region where no one faces discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, where barriers to full inclusion are taken down, and where arts and culture build understanding and empathy. Donations, grants and sponsorships fund its programs.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held June 20, 2026. It usually falls mid to late June.
