Greenville-Pitt County Pride Festival

The Greenville-Pitt County Pride Festival is a free, family-friendly celebration of the LGBTQ+ community through art, music, dance and performance. It is coordinated by Emerge Gallery and Art Center with community supporters. The 2027 festival is set for June 12 at the Greenville Town Common.

The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Greenville Town Common and uses art, music, dance and performance to give LGBTQ+ residents a stage to be seen and heard. Emerge's events staff handles questions from performers who want to take part, and vendor details are released closer to each year's event.

Emerge Gallery and Art Center is home to the Pitt County Arts Council, the nonprofit arts council for the county. Its work centers on promoting local artists and arts groups, teaching through the arts, and making the arts available to everyone in the county. The center fills more than 8,000 square feet at 404 S. Evans Street in Uptown Greenville, with three main galleries, smaller spaces for community and student shows, a pottery studio, a metalsmithing studio, a photography studio and two classrooms.

Access is part of the council's mission: for every five paid programs, it offers one free program aimed at at-risk or underprivileged youth, through summer camp, after-school classes and a youth arts initiative that includes public art scholarships. Parking enforcement in Uptown Greenville applies on weekdays, and free two-hour parking is available on streets and in several city lots.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.
