Hudson Valley Pride March and Kingston Pride Festival

The Hudson Valley Pride March steps off from the Hudson Valley LGBTQ+ Community Center in Kingston and ends at Academy Green, uptown Kingston's historic park, where the Kingston Pride Festival is held.

The march and festival are organized by the Hudson Valley LGBTQ+ Community Center, which was founded in 2005 and provides services, programs, events and professional resources for LGBTQ+ people across lines of age, race, gender and income. Each year the center names a grand marshal to lead the march. In 2026 it chose Maria Espinal, a bisexual Latina activist and union millwright who works as a case manager with the Ulster Immigrant Defense Network.

Line-up begins at 10 a.m. outside the center at 300 Wall Street, between John Street and North Front Street, and a local artist helps marchers make signs while they wait. The march steps off at noon and heads to Academy Green.

The Kingston Pride Festival runs from noon to 5 p.m., with performances starting at 1 p.m. The festival has included food trucks, handmade goods from local queer artisans, face painting, henna, lawn games and sidewalk chalk art, along with youth organizations and more than 30 vendors and community groups.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held June 6, 2026. It usually falls first Saturday in June.
