Kitsap Pride Festival

Kitsap Pride is a free, family-friendly festival held at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds in Bremerton with about 100 vendors and food options. The main stage features live music, drag performances, and a DJ. The weekend adds a Friday kickoff aboard the USS Turner Joy and a Sunday drag brunch, and 2026 was the 30th festival.

Kitsap Pride traces its start to a picnic at Scenic Beach State Park 30 years ago, when 35 people gathered with the hope of creating a place where LGBTQIA+ people in Kitsap County could live openly and support one another. In the early years the community met in private spaces and in the homes of allies, including gatherings at John Foose's Fox Farm, before holding its first public Pride event at Evergreen Park.

The group later reorganized as the Kitsap Pride Network, an independent nonprofit devoted solely to Pride, so the local celebration would continue as an earlier organization wound down. During the pandemic it sent out Pride-in-a-Box in 2020, and in 2021 it moved the festival to the Kitsap County Fairgrounds, where attendance set a record. The festival now draws more than 6,000 people.

The festival has a beer garden, local food vendors and family zones, along with local businesses, advocacy groups and health and social service resources. National performers such as Tacocat, Kim Archer and Frenchie Davis have appeared alongside local drag artists. The volunteer-run organization also holds events through the year, including comedy nights, special screenings and casual meetups.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held July 18, 2026. It usually falls a Saturday in mid-July.
