The Woodlands Pride Festival

The Woodlands Pride Festival is a free, all-ages festival run by The Woodlands Pride, a volunteer-run nonprofit in Montgomery County. It takes place at Town Green Park with a main stage, a market of local vendors and community groups, food trucks and family activities. The 2026 edition has a Halloween theme and costumes are encouraged.

The Woodlands Pride was founded in April 2018 and is a 100 percent volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Its mission is to connect, celebrate and educate LGBTQIA people and build relationships while promoting equality and unity in The Woodlands and beyond. The festival has become one of the largest free Pride events in Texas; the sixth festival, in October 2024, drew more than 9,000 people, 125 exhibitors and nearly 20 sponsors.

The group works year-round. It runs There's Room at Our Table (TROT), a youth program creating safe spaces for LGBTQ+ young people, and the TWP Community Library, a free collection of LGBTQ+ books and resources. It has also set up an endowment with Out for Education and has sponsored new Pride festivals in other suburban and rural communities. The organization belongs to the Montgomery County Hispanic Chamber, the Greater Houston LGBT Chamber and The Woodlands Area Chamber, and it was the lead plaintiff in the successful 2023 legal challenge to Senate Bill 12.

The 2026 festival, its ninth, falls on Halloween, and attendees are invited to come in costume or simply as they are. General admission is always free, and sponsorships at several levels include booth space with a tent, tables and chairs.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.
