About Tri-Cities Pride Festival
The Tri-Cities Pride Festival serves Kennewick, Pasco, and Richland and is held at Memorial Park in Pasco.
Tri-Cities Pride was founded in 2022 as a collective of 2SLGBTQIA+ people in Kennewick, Pasco and Richland. It grew out of years of Pride event organizing and formed in response to growing backlash and hate aimed at local 2SLGBTQIA+ residents. The group works at many levels of change, from individual to institutional, to support community well-being.
It centers residents of the Tri-Cities and surrounding areas who are most affected by harm, especially Black, Indigenous and People of Color and Two-Spirit, transgender, nonbinary and intersex community members. Its mission is to empower 2SLGBTQIA+ people and the organizations that serve them through advocacy, education and community programming, with the annual Pride Festival as its flagship event.
The organization acknowledges the Umatilla, Cayuse and Walla Walla tribes as the original people of the area and commits to honoring their sovereignty. It is led by a volunteer board with chairs for areas such as volunteering and communications.
