About El Paso Sun City Pride Parade and PrideFest
El Paso Sun City Pride, a project of the Borderland Rainbow Center, organizes a month of Pride events that ends with a downtown parade and PrideFest. The morning parade is followed by a free family picnic at Houston Park, and the ticketed evening PrideFest brings performers, DJs, artists and vendors to downtown. The month also includes Pride nights with local sports teams and a 5K run and walk.
El Paso Sun City Pride describes itself as the region's largest recognized LGBTQ+ organization. It was founded more than a decade ago with the goal of increasing the community's visibility, and it is a project of the Borderland Rainbow Center.
What started as a one-day festival has grown into a full month of events around El Paso. The calendar has included family-friendly nights at Southwest University Stadium with the Chihuahuas and the Locomotives, scholarship presentations for local students, bar nights and the original street festival and parade.
The 2026 parade was the 19th annual and stepped off at 10 a.m. Afterward, the family picnic at Houston Park offered free music, food, nonalcoholic drinks and drag performances. Attendees can bring pop-up canopies as long as they are not staked into the ground, and vendors can apply by email. The month closes with PrideFest in historic downtown El Paso.
