Hamptons Pride Parade

The Hamptons Pride Parade steps off along Main Street in East Hampton and is followed by an afternoon celebration in Herrick Park with a DJ and live music. It is organized by Hamptons Pride, an all-volunteer charity, and 2026 was the fifth annual parade.

Hamptons Pride is a volunteer-run nonprofit chartered in New York in 2021 and governed by a board of directors. Beyond the parade, it holds events through the year for LGBTQ+ people and allies on Long Island's East End, including World AIDS Day observances, film screenings and fundraisers.

The group was founded partly to preserve local LGBTQ+ history. Its founding goal is a gathering place and landmark at Wainscott Green in East Hampton, the former site of The Swamp. Opened in 1977 by Bill Higgins and Brent Newsom, The Swamp ran for nearly 25 years and was the last of the LGBTQ+-owned or friendly businesses along Wainscott's so-called Miracle Mile, which also included the Attic and Out of this World. The planned monument would honor those spaces and give the community a new place to meet.

The parade forms on Main Street near the First Presbyterian Church, heads east, then turns onto Newton Lane, Railroad Avenue and Lumber Lane before ending at Herrick Park. Marching is open to the public, including families, faith groups, first responders and businesses, and floats, vehicles, walking groups and assistive mobility devices are all welcome. Volunteers and East Hampton Village Police organize the lineup. The event is balloon-free, organizers ask people to leave confetti and paper handouts at home, and businesses are asked to carry a sign or banner rather than advertise.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held June 6, 2026. It usually falls first Saturday in June.
