Pride Across the Bridge

Pride Across the Bridge is an Eastside Pride celebration held in Kirkland in early September.

Pride Across the Bridge provides resources, advocacy opportunities and art and culture events shaped by the needs of the Eastside's 2SLGBTQIA+ community, so that people can feel safe, included and represented close to home. It is run by a volunteer leadership board and team drawn from that community, and it operates as a project of its fiscal sponsor, Evergreen Social Impact.

Founder Axton Burton, a nonbinary transgender business owner, started the Riverview School District's first Gay-Straight Alliance and wrote The Big Book of All Things Queer, a multilingual resource guide available in Eastside schools, businesses and healthcare offices. Axton has trained medical providers on trans-related care since 2013 and created Redmond Pride, the Eastside's first all-LGBTQIA+ vendor and performer event.

The organization has also launched a string of Eastside firsts, including a queer self-defense class, a skydiving group, an all-queer comedy show, a rainbow elder breakfast and a queer holiday potluck. Donations help keep events secure, pay 2SLGBTQIA+ performers and keep the resource guide free.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held September 6, 2026. It usually falls early September.
