About Seattle Pride Parade
Seattle Pride's annual parade runs through downtown Seattle on the last Sunday of June. It is produced by the nonprofit Seattle Out & Proud, which also hosts Pride in the Park at Volunteer Park earlier in June and community programs through the year. The 2026 parade marked 52 years of Pride in Seattle.
Seattle Pride says equal rights take more than parades and picnics, and it coordinates advocacy and allyship work year-round. Its ongoing community programs include a social space for LGBTQ+ artists, aquatics sessions for trans and nonbinary people, a breakfast meetup for LGBTQ+ people 50 and older and free figure drawing sessions every other month. It also publishes Seattle Pride Magazine, available free at locations around the city.
The organization has launched a Seattle Pride Impact Fund focused on community empowerment and a youth internship program with Seattle's LGBTQ+ Center. It gives the annual Ackerman Award for Service, which went to Stacy Bass-Walden in 2026, and it has adopted a new partnership process meant to realign its partnerships with community values, along with guidance on how companies, employee resource groups and partners differ in the parade.
Seattle Pride also works to share local queer history. It has written about the Pioneer Square bars and dance halls that were the center of queer life in Seattle long before Capitol Hill, and it has highlighted the unveiling of a historical marker at the site of the city's first Pride celebration. Its official veterinary partner, Cara Veterinary, runs a Pet Pit Stop for pets at Pride.
