Trans Pride Seattle

Trans Pride Seattle is a free annual festival celebrating Two Spirit, trans, and gender diverse communities in the Seattle area. It takes place in Volunteer Park on the Friday evening of Pride weekend, with a stage show of trans performers and a tabling fair of more than 100 trans-led and affirming groups. It has been held every year since 2013.

Trans Pride Seattle is produced by Gender Justice League with hundreds of local organizers, volunteers, sponsors and donors. The first event in 2013 was a march that ended in Cal Anderson Park, and the gathering grew from about 3,000 people to 30,000 by its 11th year, making it one of the largest Trans Pride events in the world. After an online year during the pandemic, it returned in person at a new home in Volunteer Park.

The tabling fair opens around 5 p.m. and runs until sunset, and the stage show runs from 6 to 9:30 p.m. with live music, drag and speakers on community issues. Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket or chair, and the entire stage show is livestreamed on YouTube. The event is all ages, and all proceeds go back into Trans Pride Seattle.

Organizers describe the gathering as a chance to show their numbers, share ideas and call for an end to violence against Two Spirit, trans and gender diverse people. Past guests have included state Rep. Zooey Zephyr and state Sen. Marko Liias, and the City of Seattle once proclaimed June 27 as Seattle Trans Pride Day.

A Trans Pride centers transgender, nonbinary and gender-diverse people, often with a march or rally alongside community resources and performances.

Trans Pride Seattle has included festival, trans talent stage and resource fair.

Trans Pride Seattle was first held in 2013.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held June 26, 2026. It usually falls friday of Seattle Pride weekend (late June).
