About Westchester Pride
Westchester Pride is the county's main Pride celebration, produced by The LOFT LGBTQ+ Community Center in downtown White Plains. It opens with a community solidarity march and includes a main stage with drag and live music, family and youth zones, and a community resource fair.
The LOFT LGBTQ+ Community Center traces its story to the early 1980s, when the Lesbian Task Force of Southern Westchester NOW and the Gay Men's Alliance of the Hudson Valley came together to create a safe space. Founded in 1983 in a loft above a grocery store in White Plains, it became Westchester County's first LGBTQ+ center. Today it runs support groups, social activities, the Hudson Valley TransForum and a transgender support program, and in 2026 it is breaking ground on a new downtown center that will include the county's first LGBTQ+ affirming affordable senior housing.
Westchester Pride takes place at Court Street and Main Street in downtown White Plains and is free and family-friendly. The solidarity march leads to Pride Plaza, and the day includes a vendor area with LGBTQ+ artisans and food trucks plus free on-site health screenings and wellness resources. Pride Month in the county opens with a flag raising held with the County Executive, the Board of Legislators and the county's LGBTQ+ Advisory Board.
The 2026 main stage opened with MC Hype and included Broadway Sings for Pride with performers Jayna Elise and Jisel Soleil Ayon, a preview of the Arc Stages production of A New Brain, and a vogue showcase with members of the ballroom community.
